Yes—our screw-together system is pre-cut, pre-drilled, and designed for straightforward assembly, with step-by-step instructions included. We also provide phone and online support, so whether you’re a builder or a competent DIYer, installation is as easy as 1-2-3.

Generally, we only visit site for measurements after a proposal is formally accepted and the project is within our installation service radius. For projects outside this area or for flat-pack kits, we provide a Formal Measurement Plan and offer advice via phone or video consultation.

In most cases, yes—Australian building codes require a handrail if there are four or more risers, with some designs needing handrails on both sides. We’ll recommend the most suitable and compliant option for your project to ensure safety, usability, and style.

No—we hold at least six months’ stock of our core materials and manufacture everything in-house at our Queanbeyan, NSW facility. By controlling the process from start to finish, we avoid the delays that affect many in the industry and deliver on time, every time.

Yes—within Canberra and surrounding NSW regions we offer full supply-and-install service. Projects outside this area we supply DIY flat-pack kits to anywhere in Australia. All supply-only kits include instructions, fixings, and access to our Installation Hotline for on-site support.

In most cases, our products fully comply with architect, designer, or consultant specifications. If minor differences arise, we’ll discuss them with you—offering recommendations based on our experience to ensure safety, durability, and practical installation.

Simply send us your plans, preferred style, and materials, and we’ll quote within 48 hours. Once measurements are confirmed, we’ll produce your final design, manufacture within 7 working days of payment, and deliver your staircase In Full, On Time—with support every step of the way.

On average, a standard straight staircase takes around 4.5 hours to install, though timing can vary by design and materials. Every kit is pre-cut, pre-drilled, and supplied with step-by-step instructions to make the process faster and more accurate on site.

ach component is hand-wrapped and packed in exact installation order on our purpose-built timber pallets, making unloading and assembly faster on site. Our pallets are engineered for tough Australian transport conditions, so your order arrives protected and ready to install.

Yes—we can design, manufacture, and install a new staircase to replace your existing one. You or your builder will need to arrange removal of the old staircase before installation.

Yes—our initial design and quoting service is obligation-free, with prices and recommendations provided within 48 hours of receiving your plans and project details. If you proceed, we’ll arrange a site measure within our service radius or provide a Formal Measurement Plan for projects outside it.

We recommend installing your staircase before sheeting so it can be fixed directly to the framing for maximum strength and accuracy. This also prevents damage to finished surfaces and allows walls to be neatly finished around the staircase.

We require a 50% deposit to confirm your order, with the remaining 50% due before installation (local) or delivery (supply-only). Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card with no surcharge.

Our staircases are supplied and installed raw, without coating, staining, painting, or similar finishes. We also don’t provide any  caulking, plastering, or flooring, as these are best completed by other trades during your project.

Under our In Full, On Time, Fit-for-Purpose Guarantee, we’ll replace any damaged components—freight included—at no cost to you. Simply inspect your delivery within 48 hours, send us photos of the damage, and we’ll arrange a prompt replacement.

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaning methods suited to your staircase materials—like a damp microfiber cloth for timber, warm soapy water for metal, and glass cleaner for balustrades. Regular cleaning keeps stairs looking great, prevents slip hazards, and helps you spot wear or damage early.

No specialised tools are needed—just basics like a drill, level, tape measure, utility knife, and ladder if required. We supply all fixings, screws, and glue, plus step-by-step instructions to make installation quick and straightforward.

Freight is charged at cost—never marked up—and will be clearly shown on your proposal. We secure concessionary rates with trusted carriers and choose the most efficient delivery method, while working with you to suit your location and schedule.

Floor coverings affect the finished height and fit of your staircase, so we factor them into our design to ensure compliance, safety, and a perfect match to adjoining floors. Confirming these details early helps avoid costly site modifications and keeps your project on schedule.

With over 90,000 staircases and 100,000m of balustrading manufactured since 1985, we back our experience with seven guarantees no other manufacturer offers. We deliver quality, safety, strength, and popular, fit-for-purpose designs—at a price backed by our match and beat guarantee.

No—our pallets are designed for easy manual unloading, but they’re also forklift-compatible for faster handling if available. Simply cut the straps, unload in sequence, and follow our step-by-step instructions to get started right away.

Yes. All Apexa balustrades are manufactured to meet or exceed all relevant Australian standards. Our designs are NATA accredited and come with written certification.

Yes. Our balustrade systems are independently tested and NATA-accredited. Certification is available upon request for peace of mind and building code compliance.

Yes. Our balustrades are designed to be flexible and modular. We’ll work with you to ensure compatibility with your project—whether it’s an external staircase, fire or common staircase, concrete slab on a balcony, or timber deck.

Yes. Our systems are engineered for performance in multi-storey environments. They’ve been used in high-rise towers across Canberra and beyond, including projects up to 24 storeys high.

No—balustrade heights are set to meet Australian Standards and must not be altered on site, as this can compromise both safety and compliance. Our balustrade panels are pre-glazed and custom-manufactured to your project’s exact specifications, meaning the height is fixed during production. Any adjustments would require remanufacturing, so it’s important to confirm all measurements before we begin fabrication.

Yes, glass options include clear, tinted, or opaque glass, all designed to meet Australian Standards for strength and safety. We can help you choose the glass type that best matches your design style, privacy needs, and site conditions—while ensuring it integrates perfectly with your chosen balustrade system.

Yes. We supply frameless glass pool fencing that meets Australian safety standards, available in custom sizes or kits to suit your project.

For aluminium or powder-coated finishes, wash with a soft sponge or cloth using mild detergent and warm water, then rinse with clean water and dry with a lint-free cloth. For glass panels, use a quality glass cleaner or a 50/50 vinegar and water mix, followed by a microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or high-pressure washing, as these can damage the surface or compromise seals. Regular cleaning not only keeps your balustrade looking great but also helps protect it from environmental build-up, corrosion, and premature wear—especially in coastal or high-pollution areas.

We’ve made the process simple, accurate and fast—so you get what you need without delays:

Panels arrive pre-glazed and fully assembled, with step-by-step instructions included. All you’ll need are basic tools. And if questions come up, our Install Manager is always available by phone or video call to guide you through.

With Apexa, you’re supported from delivery to final fit.

Your balustrade requirements will be securely placed in our purpose-built, highly visible timber box in specific order sequence. The boxes are deliberately constructed to withstand road travel anywhere in Australia.

Note: Arrival on site will require tail gate or forklift unloading. These matters will be discussed with you at the point of placing your order.

We offer two styles:

  • Slat Screens: Horizontal or vertical aluminium designs in your selected powdercoat finish
  • Glass Screens: With opaque glass for visual privacy without sacrificing light
Both integrate seamlessly with our balustrade systems.

We offer a range of nine modular balustrade designs, all fully tested for strength, safety and compliance with Australian standards.

Each design is practical, popular across Australian projects, and comes with 3D drawings and specifications to make planning easy.

We don’t build one-off custom designs, but we can always guide you to the closest fit from our certified range—so you get a reliable, cost-effective solution without the guesswork.

We work with professional freight partners who collect orders directly from our factory in Queanbeyan, NSW. While external factors like weather or road closures can affect transit, we guarantee:

  • Manufacture within 4 working days for orders under 20 panels (from final sign-off and cleared payment).
  • Fast, reliable dispatch, with delivery typically arriving within 3–7 days depending on location.

To keep projects running smoothly, we recommend allowing two weeks from enquiry to site delivery. If you’re working to a fixed install date, let us know—we’ll do everything we can to align dispatch with your schedule.

Yes. With our in-house powder coating facility, you can choose from the full Dulux® and Interpon® colour ranges—giving you flexibility to match any façade or architectural style.

Our system is built for speed, with rapid colour changeovers to keep projects moving without compromising on quality.

Not sure what will work best? Our team can recommend popular finishes and practical options to suit your project and environment.

We offer a wide range of modular balustrade designs, including:

  • Framed or semi-frameless glass (e.g., vista™, metro™, regal™)
  • Picket styles (e.g., classic™, eclipse™, regent™, brooklyn™, drift™)
  • Privacy screens in slat or opaque glass
Each option comes in your choice of Dulux® powdercoat colour and a variety of handrail caps.

We use high-quality stainless-steel fixings designed to last. All fixings are discreetly hidden for a clean finish and extra protection against tampering or corrosion.

You can choose from:

  • Linear – sleek and modern
  • Angled – a contemporary architectural look
  • Elegance – for a more traditional profile
Each is powdercoated to your selected finish and designed for both style and safety.

Our standard balustrade height is 1050mm, but we can manufacture between 270mm to 1800mm. Glass options include clear, grey, or opaque—all secured within UV-resistant rubber channels.

Our panels are delivered in install sequence, ready to go straight from our purpose-built trolleys to the balcony. No on-site glass handling, no waiting on third-party trades. Just a quicker, smarter install that reduces disruption to other work onsite.

All Apexa external balustrades are made using high-quality aluminium and toughened glass. These materials are non-corrosive, durable, and built to meet Australian safety standards—ideal for both residential and commercial applications.

Nothing special—just standard tools that any competent DIYer or tradesperson would already have on hand.

Here’s a quick list:

  • Battery-powered drill
  • Battery-powered concrete drill with a 12mm bit (if fixing to concrete)
  • Level
  • String line or chalk/flick line
  • Marking pencil
  • Drop saw with aluminium blade (only needed for corners or wall fixings)
  • Rubber mallet (preferably white—or wrap the head in clean plastic to protect surfaces)
  • Small handheld vacuum (to clean out drill holes in concrete.

We supply all the fixings, any specialty drill bits, and step-by-step instructions. Plus, our Installation Hotline is always available if you need support.

We recommend a glass and aluminium framed system. By fully encasing the glass on all four sides with structural-grade aluminium, this design offers the best combination of strength, safety and long-term performance.

Unlike frameless systems—which can leave glass more vulnerable—our framed systems keep panels securely contained, even under heavy impact. This reduces risk for builders and developers and ensures compliance and peace of mind on every project.

While frameless glass may have a minimal visual advantage, framed glass delivers the safety, durability and professional finish that projects demand.

Our vista™, metro™ and regal™ designs are popular for their clean lines and maximum transparency. These styles provide uninterrupted views—ideal for balconies with scenic outlooks.

No—you don’t.

Glazing requires specific qualifications and, in most cases, it’s neither simple nor cost-effective to manage on site. The good news is, Apexa takes care of this entirely in-house.

We deliver all glass balustrade panels to site fully assembled and 100% pre-glazed.

This means there’s no on-site glazing required, saving you time, cost, and coordination with additional trades.

It’s just one more way we make your install easier, faster, and safer.
